The MA Situated Practice course includes a making project called the Open Work. The project used at site at Clarnico Quay in Hackney Wick where William Hodgson helped enable the project undertaken by students. It consisted of a series of structures built and removed in a single day.
The King's Cross skip garden was developed by students from the Bartlett School of Architecture's undergraduate students in 2015 with tutors Jan Kattein, Julia King and David Eland. The client Global Generation provided support and encouragement. Structures were designed and built by the students with support from William Hodgson who helped to ensure they were built safely and the site was well managed. The timber structure shown was designed and built by Ali Conning-Rowland.
