Our client for this project bought this plot in West Cornwall with outline planning consent for an affordable home. The budget was tight and the planners determined to secure designs very close to the local vernacular. The project was largely self-built over two years.
Despite the extra cost the local planning authority insisted on dormer windows to both front and rear. The timber frame was built off-site and erected by a local contractor. Most of the subsequent building was undertaken by our client including all the roofing.
